Sewing Machine for Sale

From: Dallas Sinclair <dallassinclair1955@gmail.com>
Date: Tue, Apr 19, 2022 at 9:46 AM
Subject: For Sale - Janome 18" Sit Down Quilting Machine
To: Orchard Valley <kelownaquilts@gmail.com>
Hi;
With my upcoming move to Alberta I find that I need to downsize.
I wasn't sure how to approach this but I want to contact the members of the guild to see if anyone is interested in purchasing my Janome Aritistic Quilter SD (18" throat).  It includes a foldable table (43"X53"),  user manual, lamp, needles, ruler foot and bobbins. This machine does not include a stitch regulator or any computerization.  Excellent for your quilter that wants total creative manual control. It was last serviced in the summer of 2021.

I am considering selling for $4000 but am open to negotiations. I can be contacted at 250-891-7576 for any inquiries.

Would you be able to forward this email on to the membership?  If not, please let me know how I should proceed.

Thank you
Dallas Sinclair

Request for Quilts

The Freedom's Door Organization is looking to furnish a new building and would gratefully accept larger Quilts.
Here is a link to this organization: freedomsdoorkelowna.com/

Here is a message about what is needed:
This group has been here for 19 years now. They support men’s recovery from any of the addictions and have had a very effective presence in their lives. Currently they have 7 homes and support 70-100 men in various stages of recovery. They are purchasing a 4 plex which has 2 x three bedroom and 2 x 2 bedroom suites. They take possession in March and will have to outfit all of these suites from bare walls... quite a daunting task. Quilts could do a mix of double bed and queen bed sizes.

Additionally it occurred to me that many of us are clearing out and downsizing and would have items that we might take to thrift stores etc and perhaps a good look at this could bring more items for them. Bearing in mind that there will be 4 kitchens that need everything from potato peelers to tea towels to toasters and kettles and pots and pans etc etc ...

I could certainly store the smaller stuff - but no furniture – until they are ready for it. Furniture would have to go directly to them

Hope this information helps and anyone who can assist would be very much appreciated.  Call me at 250-762-6778 to make other arrangements

Good morning, I have long wanted to have two quilts made for my children using their baby clothes and am looking for a quilter interested in the project. I wondered if it's possible to please put my request in the Offers/Wanted portion of your website? Many thanks.

Hi Christine
I live in Osoyoos and make quilts to donate to various charities. Last year I made 91. I recently won a quilting contest and have items that I won't use. I am writing to see if your guild - or members - would be interested in purchasing the items [the $ would be put towards more supplies to make my quilts]. I hope that you, as secretary, can reach out to your members. The items I have to sell are:
[1] Go!me fabric cutter starter set with GO!QUBE English Paper Piecing and English Paper Piecing Made Easy -Retail price $430 US funds --
[2] Quilter's Wonder 18" adjustable rotating quilting hoop with stand [for quilting, embroidery and beading] - Retail price $92 US funds --
[3] Velocity 230IR compact vapor generator iron - Retail price $150 US funds. I am open to offers if anyone is interested.
Thanks for your help. I have pictures that I can forward to you if you reply to my email and I can then email pix back to you.

Quilting Frame

Andrea Lye

I’m looking to buy a quilting frame. Is there a for sale section in our quilt guild web site?
I’ve looked at new ones at Cottage Quilting with Megan and at Linda’s. But was wondering if the group has any suggestions or if someone is upgrading or downsizing. My email is andrealye@hotmail.com.

Thank you!
Please contact Andrea directly.
