The Orchard Valley Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon from September through May at the Okanagan Mission Hall (corner of Lakeshore and DeHart) in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Click here for map.
Our meetings provide members with friendship, support, inspiration and encouragement. We welcome quilters and fabric artists of all levels of expertise. Our members practice traditional, modern, hand, machine, and art quilting. Meetings are a great place to learn, socialize and exchange ideas.

Orchard Valley Quilters Guild (OVQG), founded in 1982, offers a place and time for the exchange of creative ideas, the fostering of friendships and the camaraderie found in the practice of diverse quilting techniques.
Guild members strive to improve their skills and share them with one another and the next generation of quilters, and to give back to their community by providing quilts that offer comfort to those in need.
The OVQG supports traditional quilting, art quilts, fiber art and quilts made with hand embroidery and applique.
For more information see our website: http://www.kelownaquilts.com/ Kelownaquilts on Facebook or #Kelownaquilts on Instagram.
OVQG is supported in part by the City of Kelowna Arts and Culture Grants program.

Fashion Week Update by Debra K.
· Fashion Week Update
· Debra announced at last week's SewSocial Day, that Erikka from the City of Kelowna, has included the OVQG as a Designer Collective in this year’s FASHION WEEK, running from September 18th to 21st. The new material Runway show is on Friday Sept. 19th, and the Upcycled Runway Show is on Saturday, Sept 20th. As I understand, you can model your own creations if you desire, or there will be models who will wear our fashions. (I will be asking someone else to model my creation.)
· The new material creation requires 90% new materials and 10% other.
· The Upcycled Show is the opposite, with 90% upcycled materials and 10% other. (or thereabouts)
· If we have enough interest – Erikka has said that we can enter in both shows. We can enter up to thirteen items in either show with a minimum of three items. There will be a sign up sheet on Tuesday.
· Debra has to complete the application form, which includes some pictures of your creations, as quickly as possible. Can you please bring in your wearable art to Tuesday’s meeting so we can take some pictures?
· And sign up for the Fashion Shows. It will be a way to showcase your wonderful work. And it will be fun! Let’s spread the passion for quilting and wearable art to a new audience.
