The Orchard Valley Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon from September through May at the Okanagan Mission Hall (corner of Lakeshore and DeHart) in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Click here for map.
Our meetings provide members with friendship, support, inspiration and encouragement. We welcome quilters and fabric artists of all levels of expertise. Our members practice traditional, modern, hand, machine, and art quilting. Meetings are a great place to learn, socialize and exchange ideas.
Guests and new members are always welcome.
GUILD MEETINGS 2021
Public Order from Dr Henry from November 20, 2020
Hi Everyone,
In keeping with the current Covid restrictions, the Guild meetings are cancelled until new orders from Health Authority.
We will advise everyone when we can get together again as soon as we receive the OK from the Mission Hall and Dr Henry.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could continue to make quilt donations for the NICU. Please "quarantine" these quilts for the time being until we hear from Barb Segal as to when we can drop them off.
Thank you,
Sharon, Guild President

OVQG Donations Update, April 5, 2021
Hi, I’m back again, with a quick update and a chance for you to win a thank you gift from OVQG. More than 125 quilts have been delivered to me in 2021.
Our liaison at the NICU is doing very well. She is a hard person to replace but two women are sharing the position and doing a good job.
My bins are out of quarantine and refilled for the next delivery which should happen in May. 60 quilts are delivered every 2 months. The last delivery included quilts for Easter. Currently, I have 180 quilts in storage for the NICU. Before we draw for the basket at the right, I would like to receive any quilts that you may be storing. Every quilt delivered from January 1st till the end of the day on April 21st will get you an entry. On April 23rd, the draw will be made live on the OVQG Facebook group page. Be sure to check the instructions below to deliver quilts and pick up supplies.
Spring Plan for Donations (revised)
I am currently offering the following services. Please contact me before visiting.
(Contact for Barb S. is available on the Members message in your email or through the Contact on the website
Fabric pickup: I have some fabrics available. Backings are available but I will need to know what colours you prefer. A photo of your quilt helps. Fabric bundles and projects for pickup are shown at the google site listed below. Pictures were added recently from a donation. Some of the offerings might be better used for the Quilt Show Boutique.
Batting pickup: 40*40” pieces of batting are available. NICU quilts should measure a minimum 35 to a maximum 40 inches.
Fabric donations drop off: If you have fabrics suited to children’s quilts, I would be pleased to receive them. It’s a way to declutter, if the fabrics no longer bring you joy.
Quilt donation drop off: Donation quilts can be delivered until April 21st, to participate in the draw. After that date, please hold your donation quilts until the outdoor Pop-up Donation Day in May. After the 21st, if you are coming by for supplies, I will take your quilts too.

Happy Holidays to all our members!
Here is a slide show to remember 2020! We carried on despite the Pandemic of 2020, we made quilts for friends or family, for babies we did not know or for stangers in need.
We made caps and masks for front line workers.
We made Christmas Stockings to brighten someone's holidays!
We made quilts with scraps, with houses, with stars, with wool, but most of all with love!

POP-UP DONATION DAY JULY 22, 2020
OVQG Pop-up Donation Day
Thank you to everyone that attended the Pop-up Donation Day on July 22nd.
101 fabulous quilts were collected at the day and kindly dropped off ahead of the event. We should now have enough quilts to supply the NICU till the end of September. I have also received quilts that will allow us to supply the West Kelowna Nurse Family Partnership and Kids Count for all of the coming year. They receive the quilts larger or smaller than what the NICU needs.
Here is the link to the video by Global News. Thanks to Claudia VanEmmerik for the videos!
This link from Global News also includes a text of the interview.
The video includes a great section about Margaret Englehert!
