The Story of the Ladies Collective
The Ladies started out as a handful’s demo and exercise to encourage playful improve without a ruler. With the intention to possibly make a quilt for a raffle or other good cause. Susan turned out to be our good cause!
Most members contributed a lady block after I wore down 🤣Helen contributed black and white fabric and made a beautiful card. Phyllis from the modern group contributed the fantastic lettering. Maureen, Yvonne H and Theresa laid out and pieced together basically 2 quilts, it’s reversible . Shirley Sellers, a past guild president, gave her longarm quilting expertise - despite having a very painful back injury and a few mechanical issues ! Yvonne H and Shirley F squared it up at Cottage Quilting then brought it home to add on the binding. Maureen made the label.
Lots of kicking and screaming and foul language went into the making and out of that came much love and Gratitude and new friendships.
Maureen.
